By the end of 2017, there were 261 Fairtrade producer organizations in 20 countries throughout the Asia and Pacific region. More than 260,000 farmers and workers in the region make up about 15 percent of the global total in the Fairtrade system. Producers in the region earned €12.5 million in Fairtrade Premium in 2017 to spend on projects of their choice. Coffee, tea, cane sugar and cotton are the highest selling Fairtrade products in the region, followed by rice, fresh fruit, and herbs and spices, among others.
